Went there last year, the museum has some very interesting items. Macedonian tombs are unique and very different.
The area surprised me with its beauty. Very green, very mild sweet climate.Perfect for wine. Near the museum it was a bit touristy but not too bad. Family businesses.

I'm italian austrian, my family had left for a while. I don't live near the mainstream cities, I'm living in a mostly old italian migration city around the countryside. People don't give a fuck about culture, they just want to party and stuff. I believe most eurasian people would love brazil, since it's summer all year long, and people love to party often. Even though people tend to think that brazilian people seem homogenuous as latin american people, it depends on where you go in the country. If you take the places where european settlers have arrived in the past 100 years, you can find german people and even polish ones. The thing is that they tend to assimilate into the culture, and they can't speak shit of their former ethnic languages, because at the time their ancestors came to south america they used to speak mostly their dialects instead of their standard languages. Brazil is a very cheap place for vacation if you go to those places I'm talking about, but big cities like rio and sao paulo could be very expensive and not that secure as you may think.
