Why is it associated with Slavics in the west? My republic is 30% Russian, gopniks squat pretty well here. Also Japanese gopniks squat too, are they Slavic or something? It's not Slavic butthurt, I'm not Slavic, just curious.

No and no. Tataria is like 45% christian iirc. We're their ex. Chuvash. We're not even a single nation, some look Turkish but real Chuvash are Mongol as I get it from my village experience. All city people are interracially breeded with Russians since 50s-60s anyways.
