I honestly prefer Guatemalans over Mexicans. They're poorer but they're largely protestant and seem to more eager assimilate here. Mexicans and Guatemalans are both better than fucking Salvadorians though.

I think they already know their country is poor as shit and don't feel as big a need to be nationalistic or dickish in their new host nation as they aren't spoonfed that the US is responsible for most of their problems like how the Mexican government does. It's ironic because we actually did more recent dicking around in Guatemala than Mexico but whatever. They're also almost all indios so I think they have less weird ethnic nationalism and/or hangups about and they don't have a politicized mixed race mestizaje ideology drilled into them.
