Relics from you dumpster adventuring?
Precious metals and stones. I don't know why, but I just love hoarding it. I don't even do anything with it, I just safekeep it.
So far I've got around 20-30 silver coins, and 7 gold coins. As well as some assorted jewelry.

How old? Have any images?
I collect US coins, and some Canadian, only have a few silver coins.

Well I didn't know.
I'm pretty sure they were just proxy anyways.

No actual pictures, I'm sorry. But most are the same as in this picture. My dad was a sailor, and he spent a lot of time in Mexico, where he picked them up for me as a kid.
Just counted them up, and I've got 18 like the one in the picture, but the older ones have a different motiff. Each weighing an ounce, and the dates range from the 70's to the early 2000's.
And I've got 16 american silver dollars. Not sure how pure or what they weigh, but most are from 1979 for whatever reason.
Are the American ones worth anything? I've heard I can use them as currency in the US, but I'm not so sure that would be wise. (not that I would ever depart with even a single coin)
I also have a few silver pocket watches. It just gives me a good feeling to have it all stashed away, safe in my possesion.

>but I'm not so sure that would be wise.
Definitely not.
Silver is raising in value due to brexit, plus the historical value.
>not sure how pure or what they weigh, but most are from 1979 for whatever reason.
Its probably 99% silver they usually are.

How did you get into collecting coins?
>>61650588
Just sort of started around 7 months ago.
Friend of the family collected coins.

I suppose that's how it often starts. Good luck with your collection.
I'm going to figure out if my US dollars are silver or not. I doubt they are at this point, as I always believed US coins have proof stampings on them, which these lack completely. Maybe they are just regular coins and dad mistakenly believed they too were silver.

>I always believed US coins have proof stampings on them
If they're silver coins, not usually, if they're bullion then they'll have proof markings.
i wish to start collecting something new, but since im moneyless right now, havent decided on what kind of thing.
maybe ill continue my foreign money collection, but was also thinking of antique books books, amateur art, historical objects of any kind as well (not antiques, just historically relevnat, could be recent like piece of berlin wall)

I would suggest your coin collection. Unless you're interesting in buying expensive stuff, each coin would cost you a few cents to 1 or 2 dollars. Also stamps are kind of cheap.
