You're don't get it. The markets of North America, Western Europe, Oceania and the capitalist Far East were enough for global capitalism all throughout the cold war. The west had no interest in allowing latin america and africa to develop via progressive socialism. It was a game of cat and mouse with the Soviets, Chinese and Americans all supporting brutal regimes on both sides of the political spectrum. Cuba, while not a perfect country by any means, assures a standard living for all of its citizens, esp in health that is rare in latin america and unheard of in africa. But it had to butt heads to an extreme degree with America including being excluded from world markets because of this. Western corporations would rather the 3rd world retain its shitty governments that sell out the country for its resources and labour.

You're a moron. Norway is one of the few countries that actually uses its resources and money responsibly and therefore assures an extremely high standard of living for all of its citizens. Unlike USA and increasingly western europe... I have a friend who is Norwegian and his grandmother is relocated to spain during the winter because of seasonal affection disorder. The state pays for this. That is inconceivable in America, and on paper its richer than Norway.
