Is socialism possible already? What do you think? I see the most developed nations like Sweden or Netherlands slowly turning to socialism; state owned sector is growing, they have predicament of soviet system in fact that different councils and grasroot movements do ton of political decisions there and all that not talking about free education, medicine and other social issues. What's your opinion int? Will world be socialist mostly up to 2050?
>I see the most developed nations like Sweden or Netherlands slowly turning to socialism
social democracy =/= socialism

Fuck off russian piece of shit. You're a filthy subhuman.
t. german on a business trip
It's the opposite rather, our countries are becoming LESS socialist and more free market. That's how nordics became prosperous, not by embracing socialism, but embracing social democracy with a strong free market.
Its social democracy which is a hybrid system I guess.
Why should private institutions cease to be around 2050 if they can stay innovative and thus competitive to state based companies?

Literally what?
Just because some small Scandinavian countries with 5 million population have implemented a welfare state and strong socialist policies doesn't make them socialist.
They're still Capitalist countries but just with some socialist policies.

>Will world be socialist mostly up to 2050?
Also every major country in the world is quite strongly capitalist. It's not going to happen, keep dreaming

The definition of being poor changes.
200 years ago a poor person was homeless starving and wearing rags
today a poor person have a tv, fridge and a smart phone
So indeed eventually the state will guarantee that being poor is not life threatening condition. With the advent of automation, labor efficiency and trade more people would drop off the labor market. As the market will not need them. To that extend it will be either a guaranteed income or mass riots.
This however will not be an utopia as many believe.
The society will split to a majority of slobs injecting mass media in their brains and juckfood in their bodies and smart specialists running the show.
With that our society is bound to stagnate.
Top off that with the depletion of oil and the cataclysmic shitstorm it would cause and we will be living in a beautiful dystrophy.
Imagine Fahrenheit 451.

Socialism 'is possible' in that we could, but we don't.

A fridge isn't a luxury item, it's a necessity like having a home address or a phone. Being poor doesn't mean being a caveman, and we shouldn't aspire to turn the poor into cavemen.

yes, I was not implying otherwise
>>61542582
Yes, but don't they are turning more to socialism from their hybrid system?
>>61542997
