The whiteness of a nation can be determined by the ratio of melodic instruments to percussive instruments.

More percussive instruments = less whiteness

>>61498972
What do you mean notes are left out? There are no missing frets, it's just using a different scale the farkas/fargas one used for tambouritza instruments. They make similar things for "travel guitars" for idiots that can't play a guitar that are tuned to a major scale. Pic and video related:

>>61498798
Fuck off, all the modern "melodic" instruments came from the East. The only thing that could be considered a "white" instrument is the frame drum, and that's not much because every culture in the world created some version of the frame drum. There is no such thing as "white" music, only your delusions.

>>61496539
My parents were from Mexico and while a lot of spics from there like to listen to that Germanic oompa loompa music, I grew up hearing mostly stringed instrument music. There are a lot of them from Mexico so I'll just post one of my favourite ones to be strumming monkey on.

Also why hasn't anyone mentioned the Ukelele? I think the Ukelele is more popular than the banjo (although everyone knows the banjo) as an instrument that people around the world play.

>The only thing that could be considered a "white" instrument is the frame drum

what about the hurdy gurdy?
>>
>>
>>61500864
Hurdy Gurdy is of Middle-Eastern origin, all the stringed instruments in Europe are. Furthermore the scales used in Medieval music are straight from Arabic maqams, that "drone" note in instruments such as the hurdy gurdy or bagpipes is part of Eastern music traditions which are found from China to Greece, hell it's even found in Native American music. After the baroque era Western European music did away with those drone and dissonant sounds tightening and limiting themselves to the 440 temperament (standardized by Nazis). However we still use original innovations for example the standard guitar tuning which was popularized by Ziryab in Andalusia, and that to this day still has the extra high E drone string and uses the scale which is now called E Phrygian but originally was known as the Arabic/Jewish scale.

This depends what you want to call white i guess. Arab classical music is just a ripoff of byzantine music, and byzantium is rome.

The hurdy gurdy in particular seems to have been invented in iberia though
>>
>>61501255
It's not a ripoff of Byzantium music, it's the other way around. Music flowed from the East to the West. It didn't happen to Europe either for example a lot of people consider Africa to be some kind of rythm and drums land, but a lot of their music is actually Indian and they use Indian rhythms and scales. These Indian rhythm and beats traveled deeply into Africa forever being ingrained in their cultural DNA. Same has happened with Afro-Andalusian music in the Caribbean were a lot of music from South American countries have a strong Caribbean influence despite not being geographically anywhere near it. You can't put some kind of hermetic seal and call something purely European/Middle-Eastern because everything has influence from somewhere else. Just like food.
