Scotland should have same status as Canada or Australia. An independent Commonwealth Realm (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commonwealth_realm). That way, they keep the Queen and historical ties to England but have their own freedom to rule as they see fit. With regards to the economics: so what? When my country gained independence, our tin and gold deposits ran out, oil haven't been discovered, main industry was rubber plantations and subsistence farming, very few roads, electricity, hospitals etc. We were worse starting compared to Scotland now.
