What is there to see in Eastern Europe? Convince me it isn't an uncultured shithole with nothing but commieblocks and depressed alcoholic people. I want to visit there but I still don't know which country and which locations to go to.

Prague and Budapest are very beautiful cities (at least the parts that were not buildt by commies). But you will definitely see some depressed alcoholic people.

They're mostly in the suburbs or replace parts of cities that were levelled during WW2.

Please keep the gypsy ghetto out of this.
But yes, it is indeed something you will probably never see in western Europe. It's the result of commies giving free housing to gypsies, a palpable and visible truth about how gypsies do not fucking belong to Europe

It's hard to call it a criticism, you haven't stated what you don't like, you just called everything artificial without giving any arguments or explainations.
>>
>>61464326
What the fuck are you even talking about? Artificial cities? Bratislava was capital of Hungarian kingdom for centuries, how is that artificial? Minig towns were built centuries ago and some of them function to this day. Have you ever visited other countries that were part of A-H? Because Slovakia is no different from them regarding cities and architecture

>>
>>61464935
Yes, I lived in Austria for half an year, that's why I say it seemed artificial. Maybe it's not. Maybe it's just the real nature.

But let me ilustrate an example. When I went to Slovakia, I had a Slovak friend who guided me through Bratislava. I noticed there where a large number of statues everywhere. So I started asking about the statues and some of them people didn't even know the story, others where just "he was a nice guy around this street". In western europe, statues are used to celebrate real important people. In Slovakia they were fucking everywhere, as if they were trying too hard to prove something.

There's really nothing to say about it... there wasn't really much, I think I know why Slovenians cling so much to their pictures of nature aorund /int/.

I went to Ljubljana twice. The first time was just bad. Bad people, boring places. So I gave it a second change. The second time I went looking for some cultural experience, and to be honest, there wasn't much to go around either. The little things that were actually real important historical places, seemed odd. For example, it's "medieval" castle didn't seem medieval at all and overall the city seemed ill kept and very dirty. except for some very concetrated small tourist hotspots where everything was good looking but sterile. As in nothing "Slovenian" to distance it from everything else.
>>

>>
>>61465407

>>
>>61465278
I'd expect the people that come in daily contact with them to know. I didn't say one person has to know them all, but at least the ones they see looming over them everyday. Even the scumbags of my town know who the statues here represent.

And as it turns out it really is artificial.

He also seems to think that we should have something to reflect our eastern nature in relation to Austria. But since we were a part of Austria for almost 600 years, there is nothing to set us apart except for a less stringent attitude towards local history, as he correctly noticed, which results from a number of factors, most importantly the revocation of noble status, secularization and a late industrialization/proletarization, all fully realized only in communist times.

But being small doesn't excuse it. My town has less 200.000 inhabitants than Slovenia and there are more things to do in it, but it is as ill kept as Ljubljana. Maybe it changed.

The area was inhabited by a celtic/gaulish tribe (Carni) before the slavs came as well and, for example, they were the ones that founded the settlement that came to be Aquilea.

Yeah, so you've got Slovenes that look like Friulians in an area that has nothing to fo with Friuli and had no overlap with it.

Friulians had influx of Slovenes, Prekmurje, as was your example, had no influx of Friulians yet they still look like them (according to you). See where I'm going with this?

Thus the only logical conclusion is that Friulians are Slovenes in denial and not the other way around. That is if I take your premise of "in denial" seriusly to begin with.

Both of them don't really look like typical Slavs to me. More like an intermediate between Austrians and Mediterraneans. Anyway, the left group is Slovenian and the right one is Friulian. There was a small giveaway for the Slovenian side which was the guy with slanty eyes (probably has something to do with being close to Hungary, he looks close to the average Hungarian man). The rest seem to share the Alpine and Mediterranean phenotypes.

>Random people you can find all over Europe.png

>>61470255
What are "typical slavs" to you? The Russians that mixed with finno-ugrics for 1000 years?

Austrians are the ones that are overlaping between germanics and slavs, most of modern day Austria was Slavic before the Germanics migrated south, can be clearly seen by placenames and surnames. It's ridicioulus that you use them as some sort of baseline and say we're the intermediates lel.

Hungarians are also heavily overlapping with Slavs as can be seen, again, by both surnames and placenames but they never ventured out of the pannonian plain much. The average Hungarian doesn't look "slant eyed" if that's what you think.

Damn, snownigger barbarian is getting upset. How does it feel knowing you were of zero relevance to European history until the 1800s and your "glorious masterrace HRE" relied on Tuscany and Northern Italy to do everything for them?

Is this what Italians actually think?

I don't want to side with the italians but forgeting the fucking european renaissance isn't good advertising for american education.
>>
>>61471602

they were full of awesome things until the anglos bombed it all. Poor fellow.

>tfw someone calls me Balkan

>>61471663
Yeah, probably more important than whole Roman era

I'm white, resistant to alcohol and not gay, I could enjoy Russia !
>>
>>61471318

your fucking continent is named after Amerigo Vespucci and Cristoforo Colombo led the spanish funded caravels into the New World. Destroying the relevance of the Venice Republic.

Russia is not a bad place, but it's still the worst country I've ever been in. The only remarkably positive thing is the cheapness, other than that it's pretty meh.
>>
>>61471652
I can't think of many relevant German figures before the 1800s. They only started to get on the same level as France, Britain and Italy during the Age of Enlightenment. And let's not forget they always had a much bigger population than those countries.
>>
>>61471812

nope, France had a huge population, way more than "Germany"
>>
>>61471773
Where in Russia have you been ?
>>
>>61471773
>cheapness
u wot? everything is overpriced in here. Any country in EE is cheaper than Russia.
>>
>>61471847

whatever Germany is. They've changed their borders too many times
>>
>>61471586
Mad banter, lad. Should tell your wife-sister about that one.

>>61471812
That's because you're uneducated
>>
>>61471812
France always had the biggest pop in west europe.

Thread is full of some uneducated Italians. Really makes you think.
>>
>>61471873
The good side about living in Switzerland is that wherever you can go, it's cheaper.
>>
>>61471851
North West Russia (Karelia, SPb)

>>61471873
It's cheap compared to us, at least when I visited (2010), and I think places like Czech, Poland etc. are more expensive than Russia.

>>61472003
Those medieval census only account the modern geographic area of those countries. Germany/HRE was bigger at the time.

I'm not. It's true. Look at all that lack of scientific achievement during 1600-1800. Shameful. That's why the HRE was trying so hard to not lose control of northern Italy.
>>
>>61472346
Are you retarded?
Italy is behind Germany on that graph.

>typical italian
>>
>>61472446
And what is the size of your population compared to ours I might ask? You're ignoring that you were irrelevant before 1800 and a big percentage of your figures are Jewish.
>>
>>61472074
