its literally the exact opposite for me. I played LoL from the tail end of beta and through season 2 before quitting for dota. I tried to play again with friends awhile back and it felt like the game was in slow motion with how slow everything is. I guess the movement earlier on is slower but between higher mobility, TPs, and positioning items the game just plays at a much faster pace than league.

Thats like saying someone should make a counterstrike with CoD gameplay. If you honestly dont prefer dotas gameplay you arnt going to like the other parts of the game either. I used to hold the same opinion you do before I played for a few days and the game stuck with me and I can see why the barrier of entry is off-putting to people.

This is literally not true. mechanics matter far, far, far much more in dota than they do in league. Champions like you mentioned play exactly like everything else except you press buttons faster. Contrast this with heroes like Invoker, Meepo, Chen, Enchantress, and Arc warden which force you to learn how to play something entirely different from anything else. I was by no means a professional league player but I ended season 1 at the 2nd highest rank (top 0.5% of ranked players iirc) and in that time played a LOT of Vayne, shaco, Ezreal, and Talon when he was later released and I can tell you without a doubt in my mind that I had a much harder time learning to play even average dota heroes like earthshaker effectively than any of them

I disagree. Even when I played manmode champs like udyr, trynd, or jax I wasnt able to man up as much as I could with something like undying, storm, or TA. Granted I havnt played since mid season 2 and im sure things are not the exact same but I dont really see how the game can change much with flash still in the game.

Ezreal and Vayne were always the carries which stomped high elo and sucked low elo because of their difficulty but again I cant speak for anything released post 2011.
I was also talking about playstyle here. Learning to play something like Vayne, kassadin, or an Assassin is much easier than their equivalent in dota because there are fewer actual mechanics in the game. The limitations of Adobe Air prevents riot from ever releasing a champion that requires microing another unit past simple attack and move commands or even from ever having more than 4 abilities on your spell card at any given moment. This leads to every champion playing mostly the same with the only deviations being what kind of bullshit minigame they can tack onto abilities to make you use them properly. For example, Champs like Ori or Malz which have very different kits in reality play out almost entirely the same. This isnt true in a game like Dota where you must learn a unique set of skills for 70% of the hero pool.

they literally do. Both have skillshot nukes used for poking, solo kill burst potential, and large amounts of AOE. They may seem different in the concept of league but overall they both ultimately accomplish the same things in mostly the same way with only minor differences (shield, autoattack pet, dot) that mostly just flavour differences instead of actual playstyle differences
