The problem with south america is great social inequality, which means that you find great places with high living standards and others that are absolute shitholes.

I lived in Barcelona for a year and plan on moving there and getting a job in the fall.
Spain is different depending on where you live. When it comes to work for English speaking people there are tons of opportunities in Barcelona and Madrid, mainly in IT, Business/Sales, and tourism. I speak fluent Spanish and decent Catalan which will help open doors and allow me to apply for jobs in all local languages + english. My resume is awesome too.
I'm primarily speaking about Barcelona because that's where most of my experience is, and it seems the reason 20 somethings can't get professional jobs there is because the majority really don't given a fuck about their future. 1/3 of the kids don't pursue higher studies than ESO, which is about 10th grade in America. The amount who finish degrees and get graduate degrees is pretty low. A lot who finish their degrees strictly do school, no jobs/internships/experience and that's why they can't find a job.
If you're serious about moving, get some experience under your belt, learn the language, and the rest will happen. Living there (minus the crazy Catalans) is awesome, the culture and way of life shits on American culture. Lots of places in Spain are almost like out of a movie. I have an awesome Spanish gf who hates Catalan people as much as me and we've been dating for a year and a half now. I plan on staying for the next 2-3 years and see how it goes, before deciding whether to stay long term or move back home. I'm 24.
