I went there every summer. My grandmother was a swim teacher and my dad was a lifeguard, so from a young age I've always been a strong swimmer. I rarely swim now though, so I'm not as strong as I could be

I think it's pretty inherent when youre a kid, like learning how to ride a bike. When i was really little I did the doggie paddle then when I got a bit older I kinda just mimiced the freestyle movements and went from there

We really take our beaches for granted, it's at most a two hour drive and usually much less for pretty much anywhere in NZ to get to the sea, I can literally see it out my window. Beaches n shit are pretty much an integral part of our nation's culture (unless you're a Chang or Pajeet who can't swim for shit). Feel sorry for ya lad.
