Yes, I agree that the referendum was legitimate and democratic and I never intended to say otherwise. However, it has resulted in the country collectively shooting itself in the foot. The ones who voted leave are the ones who are going to be squealing loudest about the consequences in the coming months, and that's because they voted on an issue that they had no idea about. You can't fix things by continuing to ignore the people. They never should have signed the Maastricht or Lisbon treaties knowing that it was an irreversible decision that the people would never have consented to.
