The Euro destroyed our economy.

>1999
>Price of an average shopping cart full of goods: 50000-75000 lire

>Price of 1l of gasoline: 1200L

>2001
>Price of the same average cart: 50-75€
>Price of 1l of gasoline: 0.9-1€

>1€=1936.27L

Prices basically doubled in two years.

Also we don't want to be in a union that gets to decide economic policies for us.

The sanctions against Russia caused our economy to lose tens of billions in export.
>>
>>61242957
Because EU is a useless humoungus bureaucratic organ that politically serves barely any purpose and take away sovereign countries power. We should have stuck with trade agreements.
>>

>>
>>61243433
the anti-immigrant, anti-muslim nationalist party being the biggest (by a long shot) in the current polls.
>>
>>61242782
We can't have a binding referendum about this without the parliament's approvement.
Also good luck selling the idea while British jobs are moving to other countries.
>>
>>61243384
lira also sounds much more classy than euro

Seriously "euro"?
Probably some sort of symbolism showing that the entire basis of the EU was financial or something i dont know.

It still sounds like crap.

REMOVE EU
>>
>>61243455

Yeah, we had a pretty high inflation, but at least it was recognized and wages went up along with prices.

Look, there is one simple proof that we were better off before the euro.

In 1999, My uncle was paid 2.5millions and he was provided a house in the compound, free electricity, gas and water. The house had aircon.

For what? Simply for living in a factory compound.

That's it. He was just... there. Looked over things at night/on weekends,

Most low-grade factory workers were paid 2 million or more, and sometimes had benefits like company provided healthcare or housing.

2 million lire was A LOT.
It was at least comparable to 2000€ in today's money.

Nowadays, the same people are paid 800€ for the same job, and have fuck all for benefits.

It is not possible for a family to live on just the husband's wage anymore, while it was common back in the day.

Things literally went to shit, and why?
A strong currency cripples exports.

While it is true that Italy imported a lot of raw materials, we were an industrial powerhouse and we exported fuckloads of finished products.
The cost of raw materials is not a problem if you're using it to build things that you can export for twice the price.

I guess that's not a problem anymore though, since our secondary sector died and we don't produce anything anymore. All hail the EU I guess!
>>
>>61244213
reminds me, didn't the GoT producers say they can't film in Britain anymore when Brexit passes?

It's definitely not. I suppose they took the results of SPD vs. CDU/CSU and drew the map up according to that for Germany.

The problem is CDU/CSU have moved far to the left under Merkel. To an extent that existentially threatens the SPD.
While they are still "rightist", they are definitely far less "rightist" than the corresponding parties in the rest of Europe.
