Can we have a semi serious Brexit thread?
A few places have called it already, and this isn't just a meme anymore.

What does this actually mean for the Europe and the world at large?
Will the EU punish Britain to keep others from leaving?

If Britian stays, it just goes to show they're EU's bitch, more so than the Cyprus thefts.

If they leave, EU might want to consider some soul searching beginning with getting rid of useless bureaucrats.

This is not a binding referendum, this is just a first step there are many more hurdles Brexit needs to overcome to actually leave, Cameron will probably step down and the Leave Tory faction will take over.

They will then have to start negotiating with the EU on how the UK could leave, and you can be sure that Germany and France are not going to give them anything. They will try to make it so painful no one else will ever think about this again.

I'm hearing it called for Brexit.

I'm so proud of them. I'm old enough to remember visiting London when there wasn't a kebab in sight. Its always been painful knowing I saw a London their own children can only dream of.

My warmest congratulations to them all. This could be the Western turn we have been waiting for.
>>
I wonder, is this vote law binding to your government? do they have to act accodring to the result of the referendum or will they be able to ignore it?
>>
Hold the fuck up, so it's actually confirmed already? Not just projections anymore?

>I'm old enough to remember visiting London when there wasn't a kebab in sight.

80? Also you realize the demographics of London are going to be the same, just with less Poles right?
>>
>>61202858
it's to be confirmed at 7:30 AM in the UK
>>
>>61202826
The can ignore it, but there's a big enough force within the government to ensure that it'll go through

ignoring it would split the party and destroy voter confidence

>>61202858
BBC are calling it. The votes aren't all in though
>>
>>61202826
They can ignore it the vote, but if they do, the Tories are going to be eaten alive. A new party that will actually go through with the vote will take power.
>>
>>61202826
Technically the government can ignore it because parliament gets the final say over anything ever in the UK (no constitution lol).

In reality, however, the government isn't going to ignore this vote. Cameron's legitimacy is built upon him respecting the outcome of this referendum.

I should warn the Brits what America went through when Jackson finally drove out the central bank, which is similar to this.

The banks deliberately sabotaged the economy and tried to blame Jackson who spent both his terms to beat them. They made life a misery, but he did defeat them.

The EU is still pissed at Iceland for telling them to fuck off.

The EU has to end. If not, they will be back for a re-vote after creating misery. Count on it.

For now, enjoy the victory and use this time to advance, advance, advance. Victory is possible.

Congratulations, you are sovereign and (somewhat) free, at least more than yesterday.

6/23/16 - A glorious day.
>>
All the leftists and pro-EU faggots are crying right now saying the brexit will crash the markets and cause dat racis bullshit but we all know this is a baby step towards a new future for Britain. Now that Britbong is no longer in a bureaucratic circlejerk in Brussels, Britain will have more independence in making their own policies and decisions in terms of economics, immigration, and laws. They will become the new Switzerland but only if they know what they are doing. Hopefully Based Nigel will become PM and that cucklord Cameron will remove himself back to Brussels.
>>
>>61200656
It really is a case of action. If the EU does nothing, then it means that the EU is just the economic / political club that everyone thought it was. If action is taken, it could end up like a European Civil War.

Honestly the likely event is that no action is taken, and the process of leaving drags on, and on, until another referendum vote is pushed.
It's going to be a funny sort of bureaucracy bullshit.

Aye, but Muhslims (who are non-EU migrants anyway). Honestly, the population have been fed nothing but muslims murderers for years, they believe that they are the sole killers in the world, and that has made a very frightened people.

In other news, Scotland has voted overwhelmingly to Remain. It was said that if Scotland were to be dragged out of the EU against it's wishes, that could easily trigger a second referendum.

We wanted the UK. We wanted the EU. We can't have both, we must now choose between them.

Personally, I would drop the UK in a heartbeat to stay with the EU. Last time we voted to stay with them, we got fuck all that we were promised. In the General Election, we voted for a left-government. We got the Conservatives. We voted to Remain, we got Leave. Our political ideas are simply not in-line with the UK, and it's in neither of our interests.

The EU GDP just barely matches the US.

It will now lose 2.6 trillion dollars. Putting the EU in a weaker position.

The EU will lose prowess in the financial sector without London. Giving the US an even stronger hand.

The EU will lose British innovation, hurting the already shitty EU tech environment.

The UK will hurt at first but it has a huge opportunity to benefit from it if they play their cards right.

Honey Londons Financial Sector is about to go bottoms up. 60-80% of the deposits are from EU Nationals; Saudi Arabians, and Russians; and they don't want to keep it there when the GBP is tanking. The EU's want to repatriatize that money before they get tarrifed on using it.

It's predominantly old racists and Eurosceptics in the south that are fucking the rest of us, content to drag down future generations that'll actually have to LIVE with their retarded decision.

>>61203598
Exit from the EU has to be done by treaty. If the SNP pushes through a second referendum quickly enough and passes, Scottish independence can be put on the list of things that are required in order to negotiate that treaty. It can also be a requirement to renegotiate the "UK"s trade deals with the EU: otherwise in two years the trade deals fall apart and you get NOTHING, good DAY sirs.

Hopefully the shock of realizing that they're going to lose Scotland for sure and probably Northern Ireland if the Irish have their way will cause a revolt in government, and a few MPs will rethink the situation. Otherwise there's probably not going to be a UK in a few years' time.

Britain Votes to Leave the European Union

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/25/world/europe/britain-brexit-european-union-referendum.html?_r=0

"LONDON — Britain has voted to leave the European Union, a historic decision sure to reshape the nation’s place in the world, rattle the Continent and rock political establishments throughout the West.

With all but a handful of the country’s cities and towns reporting Friday morning, the Leave campaign held a 52 percent to 48 percent lead. The BBC called the race for the Leave campaign shortly before 4:45 a.m., with 13.1 million votes having been counted in favor of leaving and 12.2 million in favor of remaining."

Doesn't really hold as the US is far more integrated. Texas runs a perennial deficit for instance to attract business and other states, through taxes, pick up the tab. Same thing is supposed to happen in the EU, but instead you see countries using others to launder their banks' debt money ruining the nation while acting holier than thou. EU is a complete mess and basic mechanics and accountability needed for a union don't exist there. All the more reason to burn it down or fix it, but fixing would mean the winners in the current EU equation have to take it on the chin. Never happening.

Eurozone free travel bullshit is about passports, not Visas, Visa agreements are negotiated country to country, for sovereign nations. The US isn't part of any Eurozone agreements, but the only "European" countries we need a Visa to visit are Russia, Belarus, and Turkey (might not count, but they do have some turf on the north side of that strait).

Turkey will grant a visa on arrival, so that's not so bad either.

I mean, I guess that Brussels or Merkel could intimidate the rest of the EU into removing your visa agreements with each individual country, but I doubt it.

Besides, I suspect that the actual response is going to be a lot more conciliatory than you expect.

Our main problems come from outside of the EU, not within it.

Farage is a man who, despite having despised the EU for atleast 17 years, only relevant arguments were from the past year and a bit. He has been waiting for something like the Syrian Crisis to pounce on for years because he knew he wouldn't convince people through thought, so he'd do it through fear.

He didn't give a shit about Britain or it's well-being. He rallied the working class behind him as a hero of their people, despite being among the poshest of the posh. All he wanted was to complete his personal vendetta.

I don't think it *was* anti kebab. I was just giving a visual of the difference since the EU came along across Europe generally.

They are two different issues. The only direct connection I see is that those who wish to flood Europe with the poor yet mobile vagabonds of the Earth seem to also side with anything that further withers and degrades sovereign national identity, which asserting Britain's right to depart that disaster certainly does.

They hate anything to do with national pride in a Western nation because it affirms the history and culture from which government parasitic politicians intend to plunder so they can keep handing off the wealth of the natives to foreigners to get votes to stay in power.

Thats all it is, just like here. In a democracy, a failed party cannot stay in power with its track record with the actual citizens they screwed, so they use law to literally pay to import future voters.

When the natives object, that party will then call dissidents bigots, stir animus, and use it to convince foreigners they are hated by the other party for being foreign, not because they are pawns in the governments scheme to loot the treasury to buy voters and ruin a nation just to keep their careers.
>>

>>
>>61205055
The EU administration is clearly incompetent and leading the continent towards disaster. Because it's such an anti democratic institution there's no point trying to influence it from the inside, better to let it die and a new union will eventually emerge from it's ashes. One that will have learnt from the mistakes of it's predecessor and will respect sovereignty, democracy and the people it governs.
>>

Stock markets and currency markets are quite irrational, it might trigger a bunch of people to take money out of london or convert to gold or other currencies.

This more or less happened in canada when our oilbuxes were collapsing and american dollar was getting stronk. people converted back to the usd.

if anything it might remain still low, but manufacturing and so-on might benefit if you guys still have an EU common market. if not then you're fucked truly.

Well, I certainly wasn't thinking about kebabs as a teenager in London in the mid eighties. I dont know what there was to filter because I did not see any.

There were some immigrant vendors generally, but no, no shariah zones and throngs of Middle Easterners in the streets. I can't make it any plainer. London of 1987 was not the London of 2016, theres no reason to think it was, and I don't understand this persistence in implying that I was imagining or mis-remembering what I saw.

I think the whole thing is hilarious, Europeans are fucking retarded. They set their house on fire and now they have to watch it burn.

Europeans are savages who were at war with each other every single generation for 1000 years until Roosevelt pushed the EU to get the kids to stop fighting. Because they're the most xenophobic people in the world who would rather kill someone slightly different than themselves instead of just fucking working together. That's why we have fucking jokes like Scotland, Catalonia, Flanders-Waloonia etc, tiny irrelevant nothings trying to go out on their own because anyone not exactly the same is unacceptable.

Americans set the banter down and get the job done. Yeah, we say New Yorkers are assholes, Californians are faggots and the south is toothless hillbillies but at the end of the day we work together as Americans and that's why we run the world, not Europe. Because Europeans are more concerned with fucking each other over instead of accomplishing things.

It's great. Britain will face Great Depression 2 because of the falling value of the Pound, WW3 starting from Spain-UK over a fucking rock with a few thousand people and an airport. Scotland crying "I'm not British!", English savages roaming the streets cracking open Polish and Syrians heads because anyone different isn't human. Europeans natural hate from each other made a world war out of nothing and you add on the unspeakable crime of brown people trying to protect their children from car bombs and you get the xenophobic tornado that will lead to complete fucking chaos. I hope their money becomes worthless and they go into a depression. I hope they go to war with Spain. I hope there's a guerrilla war between Scotland and England like the IRA on steroids. You fucking deserve all this suffering. You don't even have an answer you'll just call me a cuck. You made your fucking bed now lie in it.

This has worse consequences for the EU than the UK. I wouldn't be surprised to see other countries wanting to pull out now it's second largest contributor is gone.

You never realised that those "small countries" that you call them were extramly relevant and strong in last millenium!
They were fighting for dominance over fucking world idiot!
And biggest competition was in Europe.
No one gived a fuck about Africa or Asia or America because they were colonies and its much harder to cooperate with your neigbour if bouth of you are strong. Its like saying why didnt USA and Soviet Union cooperate?! They would run the world, but its in human nature to fight over something.
Also Europe is not a country, its a mixture of many many countries and cultrues and people and it was fight for power all over.
Today EU is a joke anyway, its controled and ruled by money and mostly dominated and under USA.
Dont know why so much hatred toward Europe in general you got?
And this edgines makes me cringe t.bh.
USA lost their best friend in Europe but EU as a union is doomed to fail in 10years.
This day is begining of something, I didnt expect this scenario honestly and it is somehow going to change something but I am 90% sure that Brits are somehow fucked up.
Its going to be interesting for sure.

Yeah I can imagine the BBC trying to sell that idea.

Sort of like when they told us in the US how the North American Free Trade Agreement was going to mean more jobs for Americans.

At which point the border was flooded and Mexicans poured in faster than before to take them.

I'm sure the pro-kebab people are ecstatic.

A bit late for ploys of reverse psychology. I suppose the kebabs will be overjoyed when Britons re-affirm who they are in the future too. Let's make the kebabs really mad and keep our heads down and kiss their asses. That'll show them, right?
