I really hate most New World/colonial place names. The only good ones are ones either accurately descriptive generic names (Grand Canyon) or Native American/Australian names (which have unique etymology worth preserving) like Chicago. Yes I know that under colonialism a lot of natives got displaced/eradicated but at least having a local native name means it won't be a copycat of another place
Otherwise, we get names like Springfield, London, Berlin, Paris, Lancaster plastered all over the place, all these shitty redneck towns stole names from other cities

Those sound unique and storied though. Maybe there is some cool folklore to go with it? Maybe it's the result of thousands of years of Abbo culture around the place, maybe there's some cheeky double entendre about it. But most importantly it's unique to that place and not confused with something else

Semenholes had the best name: Okefenokee, Okechobee, Econlockhatchee, Ichitucknee, Kissimmee etc.
