I’ve never married a German, but I’ve dated German women before. When I was in Germany as a university student, I was a weeaboo. However talking to Japanese women was fucking boring, and somehow I got to know a German girl at the local Japanese interest group.
These are the things I think that make German girls special.
First of all, they are very independent- they will do their own shit, won’t really help you with yours either, but they also won’t ask for a lot from you. They think independence is good, because dependency is for kids. Once I called her “süß”, trying to tell her she was cute, but she was pissed af. She told me that “süß” was for little kids and you shouldn’t call me that.
The way they view relationships are also very different. After we were together for a while, we were talking about our future. She has that common German trait: not wanting to talk about their emotions or having deep conversations. Many Germans are like this. I went to the States last year to Hearst Castle. The weather was really hot, and I haven’t had a drink for quite a while and was getting dehydrated. I walked around trying to find a drink stand but couldn’t find any.
I was just listlessly walking around when a patrolling guard walked over and asked if “everything’s okay”. He then drove off.
Just then my parents found a water fountain, and I drank two mouthfuls. I had my fill and forgot everything about the patrolling guard. My family took the bus down the mountain and went off.
Suddenly at the base of the mountain, a small police van honked at us and stopped next to us… It was the guard, and he was carrying a bottle of water for me… (pic related)
He told me that he had found a guy selling water, but by the time he returned we had left, so he bought 2 bottles and went off to find us- all the way down Hearst Castle. I was so grateful!!
