The F-35 is decent, but I think it's strengths will eventually be nullified by advanced 4.5+++ gen fighters mixed with highly advanced radars that Russia and China are working on.
I think we would have better off just ignoring stealth for these types of jets and simply making an evolved F-15, F-18s and EA-18 Growlers until 6th gen comes out in 2030.
But whatevs. We're stuck with it now. Hopefully the software updates and drones the US is working on can give it an edge.

Stealth is never going to die, there will come a time when stealth isn't going to be enough (Honestly that was the 2nd Yugoslav war), but a fighter with stealth will always have an advantage over one without.
This is also, coincidentally, why the US doesn't think that supersonics or hypersonics are the way to go for AShMs. Sea Skimming supersonics can't incorporate stealthy features and still have acceptable range in skim mode, and hypersonics have to travel at such altitude that they are actually radar visible before they even enter the interception basket.
