Does your national anthem mention any other country? Polish anthem mentions:
- Italy where Polish army was formed after the third partition of Poland
- Napoleon as the one who gave us hope for regaining the independence
- Sweden because of the Swedish Deluge
Older version also mentions Germans and Russians.
I think that Italian anthem mentions Poland, pls confirm.

>>61088289
what
>>61087436
Nope. Mostly just about Irishmen, does mention the Saxons though.
>>61088289
Because of Mongol raids on Hungary and because Ottomans controlled Hungary for 200 years would be my guess
Ours mentions Polish Hussars, Casimir and owies/siano for obvious reasons
Mentions Rome by name. In the context of a king telling the church that the king should have power over the church.
And I think it makes references to various battles? But never mentions the opponents by name
No, not even ourselves. In fact, we don't officially have one. Our de facto anthem (Thou ancient, thou free) only mentions "the North"
Poland, Austria, Russia
>>61087436
they mention the spanish empire and theres this stanza where they say Paraguay should become the new Rome
It mentions Poland Austria and the Cossacks (Russia). It says "The Austrian Eagle lost its feathers, the blood of Italy, the polish blood, it drank with the Cossack but its heart burned".
No. And Stop riding our dick pls.

Fun fact, someone has translated your anthem into Finnish:
Pohjolanmaa
1. Sä jylhä ja ponteva pohjolanmaa,
sä hiljainen riemun kehto parhain,
sä armahin seutu, min kohdata saa,
maa kukkanurmein, koskein, tähtitarhain.
2. Sun muistosi suuret, sun uljahat työs
ei hukkua saata ajanvuolla;
mit’ ennen voit olla, voit vastakin myös –
mä pohjolassa tahdon elää, kuolla.
>>61087654
Australia even manage to mention other countries on its flag. Congratulation.
>>61087538
>Already the eagle of Austria
>has lost its feathers.
>the blood of Italy
>and the Polish blood
>Drank with Cossacks
>But its heart was burnt.
What did they mean by this?

Italy and Poland are both countries that were oppressed and kept divided by foreign powers at some points in history. Austrians and Russians are those oppressors (the latter only for the Poles of course). Also it may have something to do with the fact that Polish volunteers fought in Italian rebellions and revolutions against foreign rulers.
>>61095267
You have an explanation in wiki, you know.
Basically it is about Italy and Poland being similar - partitioned and bloodied by foreign powers (Austria and Russia).
>>61087912
The music is cool though
>>61095267
Austria lost power suppressing the revolutions of 1830 in Italy and Poland, the Cossacks aka Russia also supressed the Polish revolution as they owned Polish territory
ours just rants about freedumb and independence and stuff

English translation
We had another, which mentioned Turk bones and ribs, but, the government wouldn't make it our anthem.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onamo,_%27namo!
>There, over there... for the ribs of the old man,(†)
>I'll dull my sabre's edge on
>The ribs of the Turks; and cut the ties
>From the wrists of the wretched Christian masses!
Same as with March on Drina, even thought it won to be our anthem on the referendum, the government thought it would provoke Austria or Hungary.
Countries? No.
But in one of old anthems were mentioned "crimean hordes" and caucasus.

>>61101181
>I don't think its used anymore
>"Rebellious Scots to crush"
Can you imagine a Scot singing that for his anthem, the ultimate cucking.
>>61101274
The protestant ones probably do as well, same with the protestants in NI.
>"We're actually British"
Aye, like it wasn't England that managed to conquer the British Isles, cucks.
