Was in China a few months ago. I miss women throwing themselves at me.
Cantonese>everything else
>>61050197
I thought Mandarin was the one that sounded nice
why is canto better?
>>61054148
Because I'm a totally unbiased native Cantonese speaker, and Mandarin is for commie fucks.
>>61054148
For comparison, here's a famous Cantonese song: https://youtu.be/NV3W0cn7cv4?t=33
and here's the Mandarin version: https://youtu.be/boE2SMIUOTo?t=11
The lyrics are different but you should be able to hear the difference.
Of course, songs sound better than normal speech. Here's a new year's greeting in Mandarin: http://www.omniglot.com/soundfiles/mandarin/newyear_mandarin.mp3 and the same one in Cantonese: http://www.omniglot.com/soundfiles/cantonese/newyear_ca.mp3

Is this because /eastasia/ has been slow recently?
>>61055192

>implying cantonese is not for commie fucks as well

>>61060125

>>61060149

>>61060149

>>61060224

>>61060587
hainan mango rolls are good for the soul
>>61060149
Yes
>>61060149
it depends, since chinese don't share an oral language -- all they share is a written language
>>61060455
Only the idiots and maoists want to fight Japan (and America).
Most younger Chinese dislike Abe and your government, but like Japan as a country. Many hope China can be more like Japan.
>>61060805
Basic Mandarin is mandatory in all Chinese countries.
And there are enough similarities between most Chinese oral languages to make it bearable.
>>61055487
這位anon說的對
>>61060025
I remember when I would order bubble tea they would sometimes ask me 冰的嗎? but all the Chinese would get asked 熱的嗎?
>>61061671
theyd ask him "cold/iced?" and theyd ask the chinese "hot?"
>>61061689
Haha
So they knew what would be asked for.
So say you're moving to Taiwan or some shit. Would it be better to learn Mandarin or Hokkien?
>>61061858
overall mandarin (as pretty much everybody speaks it) but the further south you go the more hokkien you'll hear
>>61061895
Followed by another question: Traditional or Simplified?
>>61062100
Traditional is used in Taiwan officially. Simplified is also to an extent.
Simplified if you want to live in the Mainland and not be attached to a nation of 30 million.
>>61062100
Traditional if you want to be in Taiwan. In the end it won't really matter since you'll probably end up learning both, but start with traditional if Taiwan is where you want to be.
>>61062100
Traditional, nobody uses simplified chinese there
I had been doing business with china for 8 years
and I had never meet a single honest chinese

Let's talk about Chinese minorities: the Hui (回族) people. They are largely indistinguishable genetically from Han Chinese, with only a 6.7% mixture of the indoeuropean haplogroup. They also practice Chinese customs. The biggest difference is that they practice Islam, in contrast to the Han people.

Here you can read about Chinese elliots asking why Arabic men like Hui girls. Try practicing your Mandarin.
