Why do westerners here seem to hate higher education and universities. Why? Do they hate education and want to be ignorant or what?
>>61026686
How pricey is the russian uni's tuition?
>>61026784
Free for Russian citizens. Stupid people who can't go for a place payed by government pay themselves in a range form 30-40k roubles (500-600$) per semester in a shitty uni and up to infinity (500-600k roubles in Higher School of Economics, the most prestige humanitarian uni here, as far as I know).
>i can't learn without formal education
Most are like 18-20 white kids who see them as "librul indoctrination factories" and haven't grown up yet
Don't treat westerners here as any sort of example of anything but young bitter social recluses
Oh, an educated Ruskie. Happy coincidence, I have a question for you.
Do you know whether the censored chapter in Зaпиcки из пoдпoлья is available at all in the original Russian? I can't find it in English. Please don't tell me it is forever lost to time.
>>61027721
You won't be able to get a good job without paper with science degree on it. You can be perfectly educated but without uni education you won't find a high class job.
>>61027743
>librul indoctrination
Actually many educated people are liberal because education just give you enough facts and examples that make you think so you would choose more progressive ideology. It's worldwide phenomena. In Russia most of low class people are conservative putinists while most of educated people are liberals, as far as I know educated people in MENA are liberal or left too while low classes are usually nationalists or islamists. That's because of education.
>Don't treat westerners here as any sort of example of anything but young bitter social recluses
I guess there are adults too. Also, why do you think that 4chan is attended mostly by white people in the West?
>>61027917
>Actually many educated people are liberal because education just give you enough facts and examples that make you think so you would choose more progressive ideology.
Correct; that's what makes it so hilarious
>Also, why do you think that 4chan is attended mostly by white people in the West?
Because it is, even on this board but especially in every other one
The general attitude of this place is one of a very socially angry young white male

The self-educated are almost invariably misguided and have huge gaps in their skills and knowledge. It's a bit like home schooling- of itself it's a good idea but in practice the people who do it do because they can't cope with institutional education, which means they have neither the self-discipline or self-doubt required.
>>61027772
Have never heard about it, sorry. I personally don't like Dostoevsky. I prefer 20th century Russian literature.
>>61027974
I mean, what does stop black people from browsing 4chan?
>>61026686
>Do they hate education and want to be ignorant or what?
Yes
>>61027721
You can't get a degree in Geology without doing fieldwork guided by experts
>>61027743
literally this
>>61028020
It's also impossible to be self-educated in almost any technical speciality. You just can't learn enough STEM without teacher explaining shit to you and most of textbooks on it aren't available in public domain.
>>61026686
Because most of the people that spend their time posting on dubious imageboards probably don't fit very well into society.
>>61028065
Cultural differences, in America black people obviously use the Internet but a) they're already a minority and b) they frequent different sites, like world star and shit. Not saying they don't post here but it's a small minority, and they'd have to deal with racism every time they're on the website which would get tiring
Actual Africans pretty obviously don't post here because of lack of Internet access
>>61026686
The fact that you can make a decent living without getting a diploma plays a big role, unlike us where high school graduates end up at 7-11 $20K/year jobs
>>61028020
But none of that is true.
>>61028124
Tell that to Bill Gates and Steve Jobs
You guys are just regurgitating what the government school systems say.
>>61028124
dumbest thing i've ever read.
>>61028065
>I mean, what does stop black people from browsing 4chan?
I'm not white and I post here but its pretty racist so most people would just leave and not think about it again after going once. I'm a hopeless internet addict so I'm still here

Ok my man I genuinely wish you luck you'll be a billionaire soon please remember us
Generalizations: The Thread starring Nikolai Ivansberg

>Bill Gates and Steve Jobs
The former is manager and wrote programs when it was easy and computers were an easy devices, and after circa 1980 he became manager only.
Jobs has always been just s good manager due to his superiors Damascus merchant genes. He has never did anything technical except few cases.
And those two are just two exceptions: people who were driven by the history in to the centre of torrent of computer technologies and IT which was about to be started. It's a very small chance you would randomly been put by the fate on the cornerstone of the NEXT BIG THING.

If people are liberal because of their higher knowledge and intellect then why are most of them exceedingly average followers, no different from the average person?
Do you really think people enter university and acquire a wealth of insight and perspective to the world, and realize its liberal progressive truth? Or do you think that maybe they just learn what they're told? Liberalism has been the academic direction of the west for centuries.
Why were none of the great intellectuals of the past liberal when they were far more educated than a university student in 2016? Why wasn't Aristotle championing for suffrage and social equality? Why wasn't Dante an advocate of gay marriage?
>>61026686
When most people go to a place it tends to become nothing but a glorified indoctrination center
Some people don't like it because now everyone is going to university and if you get a degree in something useless like economics you can end up earning minimum wage or a bit above this.
OP is a butthurt PolSci grad who realized his degree is worthless.
>>61028688
I actually finished uni and I am an engineer.
>>61028617
>Why were none of the great intellectuals of the past liberal
Lolwhat? Do you know anything about Enlightenment epoch?
>Or do you think that maybe they just learn what they're told?
Have you ever studied at uni? You would always have different points of view, in uni, media, etc. Uni just gives you knowledge and reasoning apparatus which allows you to think properly. Also most of the people worldwide becomes liberal or choose any other so called "progressive ideology" and educated people are more liberal than uneducated worldwide despite different regions have different higher education history with different thought schools dominating there.
>>61028861
>Enlightenment epoch
This was nothing like today's liberalism
also what's up with that retarded more educated more liberal meme
>>61029052
Well, enlightment people were educated and created a theoretical base for modern liberalism.
>>61029151
Yeah you are retarded clearly have no concept of what enlightment was or what it meant for the west.
>>61028861
>Lolwhat? Do you know anything about Enlightenment epoch?
"Liberalism has been the academic direction of the west for centuries."
The seed was sowed and society has become progressively liberal since. Even so the liberal minded prominent figures of the time were nowhere near the level that we see today. They must have been less educated ;^)
More like they were a product of their cultural climate.
>Have you ever studied at uni?
I will be soon.
>You would always have different points of view
You have no clue what different points of view actually are then
>Also most of the people worldwide become liberal
I think it's quite obvious that the west has dominated the world.
>>61026686
Trust me. I did my degree and I've already realised how pointless it is. At first I was motivated and all, but after a while I realised its just a piece of paper and not only that , but there are thousands of others with the piece of paper fighting for the limited jobs left.
So I dropped and got to doing work
I just hope that studying Tax law will lend a decent job 2bh
solzhenitsyn
I think they hate the universities that teach liberal arts and other non-sensical studies that don't actually teach you anything useful.
I think it's weird too because in my country you have to finish high school at the highest level to get into university which means that liberal arts majors are supposed to be just as smart theoretical physics majors. It's almost insulting.
>>61031850
>non-technical science is not science
How old are you? I am stemfag myself but I admit that humanitarian studies are way more interesting and if it was possible to get any job except teacher with, say, historician degree, I would never become fuckin boring engineer.
>>61032214
History is definitely an interesting subject but it's not one that you need to be very smart for, you just need to read a lot of books.
