That being true, a lot of people fail to know that our economic policies and achievements had little to do with the intiatives and influences of USA.
When our president decided to switch our main economic sector from light industries to heavy industries in the 70s everyone laughed at it, even the US rejected his ideas. They thought building cars, steels or electronics was too much of an ambition for a country which rather fits to agriculture and exporting clothes.

I think people need to read "A wealth of Nations" a bit more than the "communist manifesto". It describe what attributes success for some countries. US gets a lot of credit for the miracles of Japan and South Korea. But in reality they pretty much did on their own. One of best things the Post WW2 US did was allow countries to flourish through their own volition. You give them the tools, and money to achieve, and you allow them to build through their hard work and talent. If the American's would have came in and just spouted "here build, for this, and make that for that". Japan and Korea would be sweat shops. I think the less we did, compared to what we could've have done, was instrumental in their success.
