>The first known instance of “zee” being recorded as the correct pronunciation of the letter “z” was in Lye’s New Spelling Book, published in 1677.

Deal with it.

KWY: this shit doesn't exist in Portuguese, stop trying to meme it. (Cá, dáblio, ípsilon)

What are you a German crossdresser buying bras to wear to your crossdresser party where your anus tract will be sucked out with a vacuum so it can be scrubbed raw with steel wool before being reinserted inside your body so that when you take poz loads later in the night from burly african men there will be a much higher chance of catching the bug haha

Probably because Australian English is just slightly modified British English, not even Australians are deluded enough to consider it "pure".
"Other" on the other hand...

I think saying zed is better because it is more audible. Kind of like how instead of saying "A B C D" over a radio you would say Alpha bravo charlie delta"

zed stems directly from zeta, the Greek pronunciation

zee sounds like some Australian-tier abbreviation

>zed stems directly from zeta, the Greek pronunciation

I guess that means we have to pronounce y as upsilon and x as ksi. It's fucking ZEE. Eastern Europe uses the Soviet alphabet so your opinion on this subject is worthless.

Early Romans adopted the Etruscan's simplified pronunciation of the alphabet by dropping the Semitic names of the letters, for example a was pronounced "ah" instead of alpha. I'm also in favor of dropping the Semitic name and using a simplified pronunciation so it's ZEE.

Brits can pronounce it ZED like the French because brits are always licking French balls. Nobody cares how third world Latrino countries and modern muditerraneans pronounce it.
