Right now, Korea and Japan treat gender a lot like the West did in the 1970s-ish (give or take a decade). Men and women have all the same legal rights and freedoms and opportunities, but socially men act/look like men and women act/look like women. Gay people are cool as long as they keep it on the downlow a little.

Young girls in the US were cultivated to be outraged on behalf of other people and treat them like purse puppies to mother all over and defend on the behalf of. They were told white men invented slavery and pain and exploitation, that whites were the only people to colonize, that men did nothing all day but abuse women, that women were incapable of even thinking about rape, that sexism was entirely the fault of men. Just ignore the fact other women have been the biggest determiners of women's places and browbeaters of the woman's place in female culture and society.
If Japan or Korea ever turn, it'll likely be out of teaching the females that their ethnicity are horrible people. They'll emphasize the Rape of Nanking, the atrocities of WW2 on foreigners. They'll blame every mechanism the men created so their women could live out their identity crises and insecurities on men oppressing them.
Then they'll go looking for boyfriends of other races and tribes to show off to their parents, after they're shown dramatic movies about all the histrionic goodness you can have after introducing your daddy to a dangerous foreign boy to wave in his face and threaten to have his haffubabies, like the big dramatic snowflake they are.
All it'll require is convincing the girls they're being oppressed by men and their brand of feminism is the cure. Women love feeling justified in their outrage on behalf of someone else.
