WARNING: Not a method for poorfags, if you're that poor, you should stick to your own business and don't touch the beauty of a country that is Japan. (Nor reproduce)

Links and material:
http://www.japanvisa.com/visas/japan-investor-visa
http://blog.gaijinpot.com/understanding-japanese-investor-visa/

Q: So, how it works?
A: It's simple, you create a shitfuck company that could do simply nothing really productive, as long it employs at least one national (paying full time job) plus it has the ability to invest 5m JPY (~50k USD) in the physical place in Japan. Plus you'll need a contact there so you can arrange an address to start the process (the most difficult part)

Q: What are the steps?
A: First, you need to get in touch with a consultant (http://www.japanvisa.com/business-set-up-support), there alot of companies that are willing to set you and your company up there in Japan. With 1m USD (or even less, 500k~ USD) you can both rent a place for your own and start a business there. It could be anything, as long you have a master's degree on something useful, you can pull it out from your arse, even a convenience store that has a positive inflow of income would keep you there for life.

Q: Can you explain to me in a more simplistic way?
A: Japan has one of the cheapeast investor visa's in the world because their economy fucking sucks it's pretty hard to enter. You bribe one of their consultants to keep you an address, open a shitty company, ????, profit & live with your waifus forever.

You're welcome.

Fukuoka also lets you get a 6 month "i wanna be an entrepreneur" visa which gives you six months to come up with a business plan, get an office, open a bank account, etc.

Fukuoka also has a lower tax rate for the first few years of your company's life.

After five years in Japan on a non-tourist visa, you can become a citizen, too. Shit is crazy.

>inb4 "student visa doesn't count"

it literally does:

All you have to do is hang out in Japan on a non-tourist visa for 5 years, not commit any crimes, and speak at a 3rd grader level and you can become a citizen. It's harder to become a PR than a citizen.

And why would I want that?

Are there any types of businesses that are restricted? Can it be anything?

Why would anyone want to become a Japanese citizen? Sure, it's a 1st world country, but life there is hellish nevertheless, unless you're a high-tier IT specialist, or a biotechnologist, or a robot developer etc.

Emigrate to Australia/NZ/Canada for a comfy life and culture that at least resembles mainland European.

I don't think that's their idea tbqh.

If I were to emigrate somewhere forever, it would be either Switzerland or the UK.

I've lived in Japan for half a year and it was an incredible experience that I can definitely recommend, but I wouldn't want to live there for the rest of my life.
One of the reasons is that the climate is terrible in summer.

It lets you visa-free travel to about the same number of countries as the US/UK passport.

US citizens can't open bank accounts overseas because of FATCA (which makes life hell for expats), so renouncing US citizenship is very attractive now. Japan citizenship is a good alternative.

I'd like Japanese citizenship but I wouldn't want to live in Japan forever desu

I don't want to be an American citizen anymore, so not a problem there. Gonna leave at the end of next year.

Japanese is a god-tier language. And the culture of Japan is some of the most interesting. But hell I'd rather kill myself than stay there forever. Too much pressure
