Just learn it, its fun to be bilingual, you'll literally lose nothing and gain a lot, knowing 2 languages doesn't just expand your ability to understand and communicate with more people, but of also raises your IQ, keeps your mind sharp, and may possibly prevent/postpone Alzheimer's.
Its not like you'd be learning some irrelevant language that you'll never use like Swedish, if you learn French you can suddenly communicate with 20% more of your countrymen and 7% more of the global population, that's not insignificant.
