I was about 11 years old, 6th grade. I remember watching it as it happened while sitting in my kitchen.

Then I went to school and it was pretty much a normal day except for a brief talk from the principal over the intercom at the beginning of the day. I remember some kids messing around and yelling about how it was the end of the world or something.

I think I came home and just played video games.

I suppose you all want a story

Was in histroy class in fact and someone came in and said to turn on the tv, it was like at 10 am

We were mostly calm then, a bit of crying. Some did start to guess who and why, al-qaeda did come up I believe because it was bombed before by them 10 years prior, at launch time there was a bit more people talking about how the country is technically under attack but obviously there was no country to declare war on we were mostly worried about what kind of retaliation was going to take place, watched tv until school was out

it wasn't until the next day and the week that it was all about the rescuing and the whole building collapsing issue and the replay of all the dust spraying and people running

I was in my bedroom. I missed the beginning.
2001 was the beginning of my downfall.
If it happened now, I'd be jumping with happiness. But then, I was seriously into geopolitics, and disagreed with my country who refused to declare a second war to Irak.

I remember it was kind of exciting.
A few months ago I found a youtube video of the CNN live stream, 2 hours.
The reporters are on the roof of a midtown manhattan building, and at some point there's so much smoke that they don't even notice that the second tower has collapsed.

I tend to side with terrorists. I think about all the dead finance traders and it's pretty soothing. No offense to the USA, though. Most finance people just deserve death, it's a fact. They're thieves. Off with their heads.

freshman in HS. I went to HS in Chicago only a couple miles from downtown and a lot of parents worked downtown, so they put fresh and soph in the gymnasium with the coverage of the attacks on while they waited for parents to come pick us up. Juniors and seniors were just sent home. My mom (worked in Sears Tower for United Airlines at the time) was sent home really early because the tower was seen as a potential target, so she came to pick me pretty quickly and we watched it at home.

In retrospect Chicago was obviously a pretty second rate target and we had nothing to worry about, but people thought the whole country was under attack that day so its hard to fault the reaction.

I was snorkeling in the Caribbean that morning. The first plane had hit right before we left the cruise ship. I remember people standing around TVs with the news on and everyone being confused or shocked. I was in 5th grade so I didn't really get how big of a deal it was. Later on when snorkeling a lady came down to the beach to sell us drinks and told my parents the Pentagon had been attacked. They didn't believe her, because who in the world would attack the Pentagon? It took us at least 2-3 days to get back into the country after the cruise had ended.

I was 15. My cousin and me were in the same year. Between the first and second class period he found me in the hall and yelled "anon a plane just crashed into the world trade center! Air traffic control really screwed up this time!" and walked off.

For about the next hour nobody knew what was going on, everybody was talking about it and actual events were more or less reduced to rumor.

The whole school didn't do anything except show the attack for the rest of the day. A few kids just went home at lunch.

We all assumed it was the first wave of some kind of very large attack.

they made an announcement over the PA and sent us all home early. My and my sister watched TV coverage of it all day.

>>
it was as 4am or some shit here so I was asleep. I was 11. I remember when I woke up mum had the Tv on which was weird coz morning tv was banned at my house. So I looked at it and they showed a replay of one of the towers collapsing. I'd never heard of the world trade centre before this, so I had no idea what was happening. Once we were at school literally all we did the whole day was watch the news. That was pretty much the day I realised there was more going on in the world than what I knew in my shitty little village.

8th grade, came in thinking "cool, TV is on, we're watching TV" but then the second tower was hit

Day was pretty much us just going from class to class and watching New York, listening to the teachers. Some of the kids cried crocodile tears, they didn't really care. Some freaked out about terrorists being everywhere and that they were going to get us too (as if they didn't have better things to do than come to nowhere in the Midwest to blow up a school of dumbshit kids). The rest sorta just went through the day, it was just kinda something that was happening so far away, detached from us and what we did day to day.

We did realize that things were gonna change though.

I was in 4th grade math doing long division or some shit when our school's 7 fingered janitor known as "Mr. Todd" poked his head in and said something about a plane hitting the "world train center" and to turn on the news. Initially thought it was funny a plane hit a building dedicated to trains.

We were sent back to our homerooms and my teacher basically just busted out the art supplies and told us to do whatever while she put the news on the TV. I remember the second plane hitting because our class's ADHD kid Kevin shouted "AWESOME!!!" at the top of his lungs when the second plane hit.

It was a small school in a small town so all of our parents were contacted and basically everyone went home before before lunch for "safety reasons". I remember my parents looking legitimately concerned and thinking something along the lines of "We live in the middle of midwest bumfuck nowhere, no one is going to fly a plane into an elementary school out here"

Every September 11th throughout the rest of grade school was always accompanied by a speech about how "9/11 was your JFK assassination and you will always remember where you were and what you were doing on that day". Kinda true because I remember parts of it very vividly. Most vividly was how little I actually cared because I was like 9.
