It's comfy, a lot of sweat and bad smells lurk in your armpit/pubic hairs.
Armpits especially because when you shave them you have more surface area to apply deodorant which is good. It also looks much better

Try mixing soap with traditional shaving cream. It gives a really thick smooth lather. Not that cream in aerosol cans though, it doesn't mix well

If you don't mind cleaning it, I would buy them on ebay or some second hand store. Then I would disinfect it with Barbicide. If there's a lot of grime on it I would clean it with bleach-free scrubbing bubbles first
