How peaceful were your ancestors ?

As an algerian my ancestors were not driven by bloodlust, only defending themselves against invading forces throughout history.

The last time we took arms was to drive out the perfidious french from our lands.

What about yours /int/ ??

Many of my ancestors were probably involved in some way in the turkish wars because we were at war with them for like 500 years.

But then again that was defense against the ottoman hordes too.
