What's the difference between MSA and Classical Arabic?
Can everyday Arabic speakers pick up the Quran and be able to understand the vocabulary used?

I'm not a Muslim, however I'm pretty sure fluent Arabic speakers can get the jist of the Quran without being accustom to the Classical Arabic style. To get the full meaning takes some studying though, as the grammar and syntax is a little different.

Msa arabic is based on classic/old arabic . The only change is the limitation of vocabulary. Old arabs used to know the 100 arabic names of lion. Now only 5 or 6 terms are used for lions
