Everithing is good for fiesta, but people are dumb as hell and poor. No motivation for nothing, no will. Only thing people do in this country is fiesta and politics steal and fuck things even more. The entire country is a Panem et circenses.

So you will hear fabulous things to come here and have fun very cheap, after all its a tourism country. But is a horrible place to live.

Dumb self-hating Spaniard without any kind of perspective.

Shit like that happens everywhere, not everybody abroad has a PhD in theoretical physics. And you really must be surrounded by the worst Valencianos or Andalusians or live in a gypsy favela to say this kind of shit like "it's a horrible place to live" or talk so bad about your people. Travel more, around Spain and outside, and you will understand better the situation of the country. Countries like Italy are more way corrupt and their situation is not really getting cleaner like here, where the police is doing a good work and the political situation is improving a lot, new parties are emerging and taking the parliament. The ecomony is stabilizing, we are the only country among the "PIGS" without being rescued or having EU bureaucrats on the government. Countries like France or the UK are riddled with crime and the first has constant terror attacks and now has the streets on fire (again) because of socialist strikes. The Eastern European countries are way poorer than us on nominal and GDP per capita and worse on HDI. And you must really think that the English hooligans in France are truly the mark of a superior and more intelectual people, "unlike the dumb as hell and poor" (sic) Spaniards as you said.

>>60848789
If you want to know something about Spain, this Spanish that I'm quoting is the perfect example of the disease that riddles this country: people that confuse legitimate criticism and wanting to improve the situation with self-hatred, self-hatred for the sake of self-hatred, defeatist morons.

And btw, 4chan is not the best place to ask, in any case, this place is full of autists and weirdos.
>>
>>60849456
Thank you for the insight. Would you say Spain is worth moving to at the moment?
>>
>>60841260

I'm an Amerifag who spent 2 months in Spain.

Sorry to hate on España, but I'll be honest about my time there.

It's not very pretty. The south is hot and dry and brown, and the north does have some mountains and forests, but in that respect Germany and Switzerland are both nicer.

The people were meh. They were nice enough, but Spainards are known for being a little arrogant. Italians can be loud and obnoxious, but they don't take themselves too seriously and have a good sense of humor about it. Spainards often take their pride a little too seriously.

The food is meh. Paella is really good, but that's about the only thing they have made. French, Italian and Dutch food is all way better.

So for the good: The people are very inviting and will bring strangers into their homes or have dinner with new people without reservations about it. The bars are fun. Madrid was fun. Gotta love the soccer culture. There are some very pretty women there.

I never went to Barcelona though. And people say that place is truly special. But I've seen a lot of Spain from Madrid downward.

>>
>>60849707
As a tourist, always. But for living here, well, you shouldn't really move to a country you didn't visit before, and it's hard to find a job. If you are just a student who wants to pass a year here, you will be fine and have a great time if you mix with the right people.

Spain has a mountain range bigger than Germany and Switzerland together.

The last time I had a paella was probably 3 years ago.

If you want drink, f*ck and watch football is ok but if you want more... is the perfect definition of normie country. Everybody have their own group of friends, insults inmigrants in privacy but in public say they are good people. Have a shitjob but nowadays is ok because drink is relatively cheap... and thats all

Is a country for people who wants this have a normal life, boring, hypocrite , trying to be relevant with this social media shit..... in fact if you try to be different they are going for you in minutes.

Personally im boring of this and im quit, im going to go to the another extreme of the planet and start from 0, if i fail i dont care.

It's not bad living as a guiri in Catalonia. At least the food is great, fresh organic stuff from the local market. Don't know about when my money runs out, have to find a place to work.

The problems are the same as with the rest of Europe, transitioning from Christianity to, well in my case Buddhism, who knows, but in the meantime there's a corrosion of values. Really dig Catholic aesthetics, though.

I am sorry to say this but I mostly disagree with my compatriots' ideas previously expressed here.

Statistics talk clearly. We are one of the countries with the highest standards of life in terms of life expectancy, nice weather, medical and social care inside the EU. We have a trouble with employment, sure, but real unemployment is much lower. Hidden economy works here at a rate you cannot imagine. Immoral perhaps but that's how it goes.

The climate is mild in general and we are in general non-racist and tolerant people.

An asturian here.
I talked a lot with people outside of here... and Spain, being a bad place, it's the better we can afford.
Yeah, politics are messy and shitty, i don't deny that and i hate the corruption like the most.
But, looking further the macro and more into the micro, if you choose good places like the relatively underpopulated (Galicia, Asturias, Extremadura, Teruel, Jaén) you'll find a good place to live. As i heard and seen of more big places, like Madrid and Barcelona, or the coast, you'll find a new definition of "social cold" there. While more tourist are, the worst it is.
That's how i see it.

Brit living in Catalunya, going to list things that are better and worse than the UK.

What is better:

- The food is incredible
- Everything is cheap outside of Barcelona
- The people in general are much more friendly
- The weather is so much better that it doesn't feel fair to compare it
- The women are better looking than in the UK and like Brits
- People are quite open and accommodating to Brits, can't say if it is the same for other migrant groups but I have not faced any discrimination whatsoever and people seem very happy to talk about my country and often tell stories of relatives or friends who have worked in London (which for them is the totality of the UK)
- Very diverse landscape and cities, drive two hours in any direction and both the landscape and people seem quite different, drive six hours or so and it is like being in a different country
- People are laid back and as long as you aren't a total dick nobody cares what you do or how you act, in fact many Brits do act like complete scumbags and the people are still quite nice to them
- It is near to France and it is quite easy to visit
- Natural landscape is incredible, some awesome mountains
- Cool churches, some ridiculously old and mostly in tact
- Lots of modernist architecture and great museums
- Younger people tend to be more likely to speak English

What is worse:

- You will make less money in most jobs
- The beer is bad and it is harder to find beers at most bars that are not San Miguel or Estrella
- It is hard to find good food that is not Spanish
- You have to learn two languages instead of one if you really want to fit in, not sure if this is true in the other regions
- Shops close for hours in the middle of the day and sometimes don't open reliably after that
- Public transport is a joke outside of Barcelona, it is irregular and often buses or trains just don't arrive with no warning or explanation afterwards
>>
I think it's more or less a decent country.

The good:
- Food. You may think "lol who cares about food", but I think it's very important. Food is a big part of your life, you interact with it several times every day and it affects your health, your enjoyment, your pocket, etc. In Spain there is a lot of cheap, high quality natural foods that are also super tasty.
- Weather. You also may think "who cares, I'm an shut-in autist", well so am I but even I appreciate it. In most times of the year I can just go to the backyard and appreciate a beautiful pure blue sky. Though during summer the heat can be too much.
- Historical and cultural heritage. In these times of rapid change and overall aesthetic decay, I find it refreshing to see ancient architecture and works of art in daily life. For example, just by going to work I can see the longest Roman bridge in the world, a Visigothic basilica and a Moorish fortress. And even though they're being slowly lost, typical mediterranean features likes balconies full of flowers are very nice to see and warm your spirit.
- The country is also very diverse in landscapes, climate, culture, etc. so you have many options for living.
- People are very open and friendly, you can practically banter with strangers after meeting for some minutes. They also have a laid-back attitude to pretty much everything, for good and bad.
- Healthcare is essentially free and we have the second longest life expectancy after Japan.
- Extremely safe.
- Good infrastructure. Trains, roads... we have the second longest high-speed rail network after China and the third longest highway length after China and the US. Also relatively cheap, uncapped fiber internet.

The bad:
- Economy is pretty shitty but if you're educated in anything decent you'll get a job. Honestly I'd rather have it stay like this, so people don't lose sight of important nonmaterial things and immigrants aren't attracted here.
- Politics is shit but so is everywhere else. Just ignore it.
