I hear that Canadians say "about" more as in "aboot".
Is there any truth to this? Do you have any other differences in the way you talk? Can someone give me some good vocaroo examples or something. Im quite curious about this whole thing.

How is it suppose to be said?
>>60813780
That's pretty good.

>Supposed to be
There is no "supposed to be". It's just that Canadians in general are so adamant that they don't have an accent, which they do, and it's obvious to everyone else but Canadians.

We sound like midwestern Americans pretty much. Except for Newfies.

people from hongcouver sound like californians
toronto area accent kind of bleeds more east than the midwest
>>60813938
No, people from Vancouver sound no different that those of us here in Southern Ontario. We don't have the whole varying accents thing here, besides Newfoundland.
>>60813991
the vancouver accent is noticeable, you just aren't aware enough of your accent to see the difference
>>60814061
Meh, all uninteresting accents anyways. I can't tell though, you're right.

Yes, the vowel in many Canadian dialects for "About" is different from the vowel in General American "Aboot" but there are Canadians who pronounce it as About, and Americans who pronounce it more like Aboot too.

>Americans who pronounce it more like Aboot too.
Minnesota is rightfully Canadian so no.
