Since all of you already know what our coins look like, I'll post something you probably haven't seen

Presenting the Dollar coin, scourge of subway stations and parking meters alike. They're never popular because as soon as they're released to the public, collectors and everyone's dad shoves them in an old zippo tin because they're so "rare" and "new".

Fuck this country I just want to use doubloons.

Why do have dollar notes? What's the fucking point
>>

Are they really going to do it?

This bothers me the most. If they use a cropped photo then we're literally worse than pic related
>>
>>60795167
Tradition, I guess. Also, it's easier to modify printing plates then change the whole press and outmode the old.

Also collectorfags like >>60793406 mentioned.
>>
>>60795167

We wouldn't have them but like he said- whenever we try to gradually cross over to coins assholes start hoarding them.

The edge of small denomination coins are the diferent rings of the Sun Stone, 10 peso coin is the center.

British coins are actually the most retarded system ever. Why the fuck their size doesn't correlate with value?
>>

I haven't seen one in years

You can find them in casino areas, cause of half-dollar slots. I've got one on my desk I got as change on a trip to Reno.
>>
>>60795661
The size does correlate with value, in pairs.
Small 1p, big 2p
Small 5p, big 10p
Small 20p, big 50p
Small £1, big £2

>>
>>60793166
holy shit that is some nice coinage
>>60795546
The other problem is how they're not accepted. There's always a bunch of people who didn't get the memo and don't believe they're real, and no one wants to rejigger every single vending machine to accept them either.

Among collectors 5 rubles bills now cost a 100 times their nominal.
Which is still around half a penny nowadays.

When Americans go abroad they bring back some of the currency as a souvenir.
I was wondering if any of you guys ever brought back US currency, or is it just too common around the world already?
>>
>>60804281
I have like 5 dollars in pennies, dimes and quarters and I've never been in the US.
>>
>>60804346
That's what I thought. When I was abroad most places would even straight up accept USD.
It's pretty funny how much I can get in most countries for a doller.
>>
>>60804625
Still, most of those coins are from relatives who travel aboard. I've only seen tourist places like hotels and souvenir shops accepting dollars or euros. Only bills though, no one will accept coins over here.
