It depends, there's not a lot of people who speak a scandinavian language. Iceland has 300k inhabitants while Sweden has 9,5 million. Swedish is big in comparison to nordic countries but tiny as fuck compared to the rest of the world.
Icelandic is more reminiscent of old norse than swedish. Swedish is easier to learn though I think.
