You should really spend a few months in Iceland during winter before moving. It is not 'cool', it is something you will never have experienced before.
Who knows, you may like it, but please do not move before visiting during winter. Although winters where I live are even colder than Iceland, Icelandic winters are very dark with only a few hours of sunlight.
