Well, it is kind of complicated. There are Palestinians in the area of Israel and Palestinians in the West Bank. Those living in the West Bank were effectively under constant martial law and had very few civilian rights up until the founding of the (then thought to be a brief, temporary organization until a final peace agreement is reached) Palestinian Authority. Now they enjoy much more autonomy but in practice many people are forced to travel through inhumane military blockades on a daily basis in order to get anywhere. Some who work in Israel spend some 6 hours a day in blockades, squeezed through a tight passage like animals. Beside that if you're suspect then expect constant surveillance and questioning from intelligence officers. If you're especially unlucky and live close to the illegal settlers (who in practice often enjoy the covert backing of the right-wing parties) then you might actually lose your land if a group of them decide to grab something close to it and the military is "forced" to advance the Israeli perimeter to defend the hooligans.

Inside Israel proper Palestinians enjoy the same rights legally but in practice are treated very much like black people in 80s America. You might have rights but that doesn't mean you aren't discriminated against. Just like with black neighborhoods in the US somehow all of the budget goes to areas dominated by "proper Israelis".

I don't predict any of this will get better. Israel's own government is growing more right-wing (i.e. fascist) each election cycle. Polls show that every major war or terror attack pushes the public further to the right. The story is pretty much the same when it comes to the Palestinian population and their leaders. The cycle feeds itself. Oppression feeds terror feeds fascism feeds oppression. Everyone grow more radical. This land and all within it are doomed.
