I used to bite my fingernails and the skin around them but it was never so severe. I remember about a month ago, I was talking to some guy at the bar and his fingernails looked worse than in your pic. His were a few milimetres shorter and it was crazy. I can't even imagine how you can bite that them that low. That probably fucks with the root and can probably make you lose them.
