I've decided fuck college and to do a trade instead.

Is a trade good enough to immigrate to another country?

And if so, what trades are in demand?

It just seems faster and cheaper than a degree, not to mention I have extremely poor writing skills so no required college English sounds nice.

Why do you want to immigrate?

All the ongoing election fraud has just made me realize I don't want to be a citizen of a country this corrupt.

I know all countries have their own corruption but American is just too corrupt for my tastes and living in a less corrupt country sounds preferable.

Be prepared to work like a dog for a while.
Your best bet is probably plumbing, which pays well immediately (especially if it's a government contract which sets you up to $15 for full time). If you live up north, you're even better; a couple buddies of mine started off at $22 for helper jobs. Get your certifications, claw at whatever heels you to, and you can make around $70k a year with a company truck if you're a lucky boy. Be sure your friends and family know you're a plumber as well: working for two hours on a Saturday will usually land you a cool extra $200.

I understand where you're going with this. You don't like where this country is going and you're concerned that USA might engulf itself into a civil war.

Well, it just might. So you'd be wise to leave unless you want to fight the good fight against Shillary and her minions.

My dad did welding before he became addicted to opiates and became a bum.

That's a possibility, I'm smarter than him in every way so I could probably do it if he did.

>>60615709
The thing is, Trump may not be elected, and OP is worried about that. Or maybe even more worried that both choices, Trump or Hillary, will ruin this country.
>>
>>60615695
Does plumbing have good immigration prospects?

I'm looking for more than pay.

>>60615709
I like Bernie and Jill Stein, I wanna move to a country with more socialist policies.

Taxation is good.
>>
>>60615733
The civil war won't happen until automation goes full force and tens of millions of unskilled workers are told to starve because corporations won't pay the taxes for UBI.

I got time to bail, maybe 15 or 20 years.
>>
>>60615881
move to Venezuela thats the most socialist country in the world. well besides North Korea.
>>
>>60615932
I like democratic socialism, like what is in most EU countries.

>>60615398
Go to mechanic school or find someone who will take you in as an apprentice. You need training of some sort otherwise you will end up being a wage slave and will hate the rest of your life.
>>
>>60615881
You go where your company sends you. Sometimes it's down the street, sometimes it's down the interstate, and sometimes it's in another country (had to work in the Bahamas for a year)

While you may not get the same pay everywhere, your licences and qualifications will follow you wherever you go. Try to get a medical gas certification - it makes employers drip from the tip.
>>
>>60615974
I'm going to, I just want something that will leave me anchored in the US.
>>
>>60615630
You can always just move out to bumfuck nowhere, I live in a small 2,000 person town in the middle of nowhere Arizona. We're pretty much completely unaffected by national or global politics. The world could literally end and I would be totally fine.

>>60616108
>anchored in the US
only near utopian countries like New Zealand have standards that high. u cant really get into NZ unless you have a STEM degree, but you could go pretty much anywhere else as a mechanic or electrician. People are always gonna need their cars and homes fixed, and robots won't be able to do those jobs as well as humans for at least a century

like I said though, just move to some remote small town in the southwest and you wont have to worry about anything in politics
>>
Good choice bud.

Trades, at least here, are one of the best things to get into.

Do you have any idea on what you might want to do?
>>
>>60616279
I want to live around people who support things like universal healthcare and programs to support the underprivileged.(Social Darwinism is shit)

I also want to live in a country with those things.

Ideally Iceland sounds nice with how they actually imprisoned some bankers.
>>
>>60616108
I'm a machinist. I went to school for it, but only for a year and a half.

Nobody takes you seriously for your first three years, but eventually you make decent money.

No clue about emigration prospects for it. Usually it's the other way around.
>>
>>60616372
Anything that'll get me out of the US.
>>
>>60616440
Commie shit. I bet you'll join a Union too.
>>
>>60616478
i dont think trades will get you out of the usa mate. university is probably the better option, become a doctor or engineer and you will be wanted in other countries.
>>
>>60616478
Just go teach english in China lmao
>>
>>60616440
I don't know much about Iceland, try looking up their immigration policies and see if there are any trades with high demand there. I'm not going to force opinions on you, but I was like you at one point and eventually accepted that socialism/communism probably isn't going to ever work. However, that's something you can learn about yourself from experience and maybe you'll agree with me, maybe you won't. Follow your heart, go to Iceland if you can, and see if you like it or not. Good luck buddy.
>>
>>60616570
You typically need a degree for that
>>
>>60616685
Not really, you just need to apply.
>>
>>60615398
welding

t. welder
>>
>>60616725
I am not following your logic.

You need a degree to apply for a job teaching English and to get a job teaching English you need to apply for a job, therefore you need a degree and this would be impossible for OP who has made the decision to only learn a trade.
>>
>>60615630
Move to Ausfailia.
>>
>>60616851
You don't need any degree to apply to a job, what the fuck are you talking about?

You send your CV and application, if they like it they call you for an interview.
Of course, if you apply to a job that demands a degree they'll just throw it in the trash, but that's not the case for teaching english in China, they'll hire any native.
>>
>>60616905
Did they kick out Abbot yet?
>>
>>60615967
You don't know what socialism is; virtually all EU countries have mixed economies
>>
>>60616440
So you're an idealistic child then? Don't even bother going into a trade, you'd be out-competed in any country by people who want it more than you.
>>
>>60615967
EU countries don't have democratic socialists, they have social democrats. You don't even know this shit do you?
>>
>>60615398
Seems to me lectrician is less back breaking manual labour than welding or plumber and still in high demand with a decend salary
>>
>>60617658
He probably doesn't realize that Sweden and Germany don't have a minimum wage either. Or that the Swiss healthcare system has less government involvement than the American one, or that Denmark has privatized police and fire departments because he's utterly ignorant of how the world actually works outside the US and thinks that leaving it absolves him from struggle or hard work.
>>
uhh people with trades come to your country precisely because ours are chock full of them
dumb decision desu
>>
>>60615398
Electrician.
Less specialized than welding, less actual shit than plumber, and if you want to pick up some academic courses on the side you can easily get on a career path that leads to a light-blue or even white-collar job.

You're absolutely retarded if you want to move out of US. Take a look at the average income here and how much we pay in taxes (52% above 50000 for NL). Also take a look what a house costs around here. And guess what healthcare is not free and neither is college, you'll be better off in the US believe me.
>>
>>60615398
>Is a trade good enough to immigrate to another country?
No, you'll need at least a doctorate to immigrate
>>
>>60615398
Trades are never a bad idea but just asking what's in demand is retarded without knowing where your going.

For the love of god don't be a welder or a pipefitter the lifestyle here is dangerous.
>>
>>60618298
There's nothing wrong with wanting to immigrate for social reasons. Maybe he just likes the work culture in some countries better than here, it can get quite stressful. I'm just dumbfounded that he's so ignorant of what it's like to live in other countries.
>>
The problem with labor trades is that if your body goes out you're fucked for making a living. Someone who sits at a desk all day can work nearly forever. My doctor is like 80 years old.
>>
Move to Canada or Australia.

>>60615630

Also, what country are you trying to get intp?
>>
>>60615881
I don't think you know a lot about Scandinavia. I suggest you actually study the countries you're interested in before trying anything.
>>
>>60615398
>Is a trade good enough to immigrate to another country?
Only if it's something really special snowflake.
A friend works in the film industry as a light technician or something of that nature and he can find work in a lot of different countries because not many has those skills.
>>
>>60618879
>>60615881
Because of the increased amount of young people getting a higher education, we have a lack of people that are doing trades.
Should be easy as fuck to get a well paying job like electrician or plumber as long as you speak english, are white, and your skills aren't Polish contracting tier.

australia/canada/nz has skilled migration visas, google that, you need 3-5 years work experience and education (pass a skills assessment or show a recognized diploma) in a short-supply job

eu has the blue card
