Be prepared to work like a dog for a while.
Your best bet is probably plumbing, which pays well immediately (especially if it's a government contract which sets you up to $15 for full time). If you live up north, you're even better; a couple buddies of mine started off at $22 for helper jobs. Get your certifications, claw at whatever heels you to, and you can make around $70k a year with a company truck if you're a lucky boy. Be sure your friends and family know you're a plumber as well: working for two hours on a Saturday will usually land you a cool extra $200.

I'm not going to force opinions on you, but I was like you at one point and eventually accepted that socialism/communism probably isn't going to ever work.
