There's no such thing as beach thieves in Croatia in my experience. Maybe on city beaches, but I've never been on holiday in one of their cities. Most people go to remote islands and rent out a house or pitch a tent in a camp full of westerners who will guarantee for your belongings.

Well, the language will be hard to learn for a Far East Asian, just as you would expect, but you will learn the basics fast with the locals.
Good things about Croatia would be the natural beauty and sometimes architectural beauty too. The people are friendly and it would be easy to get along if you are willing to assimilate to their ways and their culture, like anywhere else in the world.
The bad things are the big differences between people, Croatians are very diverse bunch and not all Croatians get along with other Croatians from different regions of Croatia. Other things are probably the things you would encounter in any other countries, I would say

Bosnia is literally a meme country. Where in some parts Serbs live nowadays it used to be where Croats lived, where in some parts Croats and Serbs live there sprouted a meme """"Bosniak"""" ethnicity. Muslim Croats and Serbs who embraced the religion of their conquerors. I don't have to be a Serb to recognise this. Any Croat with half a brain should recognise that Montenegro is Serbian, that Kosovo is Serbian and that Bosnia should not be a sovereign state. To claim Republika Srpska Krajina was a farce (and it was), but to believe and get happy when, for example, Montenegro secedes is infantile. It has the same right of being sovereign as Slavonia, even less so.

You have to understand that Slavonia was a Croatian kingdom. It stopped being separate long before Montenegro, but this is irrelevant. If you told Croats today that there was going to be a referendum on Slavonia seceding you would receive angry replies full of disbelief.
