i think most people just commute in to work here or for entertainment here, but then go back to their commuter towns, i think migrants live in appalling conditions, i think young adults live in silly conditions (flatsharing really shitty flats well into their 30s), i think other people came in before the prices were too high or are just earning a shitload.

Terrible mortgage, mind-numbing 9 to 7 job trying to sell other people's mortgages for more than they're worth while they are actually worth less than their value (because the people who got them are not able to pay them back, or even their interest), having inherited a lot of money etc. etc.
The worst of the white collars, they send of their kids to a boarding school as soon as they can, while seeing their once pretty wives turn into spoiled trolls.
