No. Allende wanted to call to elections and be removed by popular vote, the coup had been in motion since 1968, but it wasnt until 1970 that got support from outside power.
Allende failed hard and was terrible, but Pinochet reign wasnt possitive. Pinochet wasnt even part of the planning he joined at the very last minute.
Pinochet was just an angry dog that the elite could control, blamming the coup on the military is just plain wrong. Also if there's something fgood all chileans will say about pinochet is that he had top tier Style.
