>America will never use the logically superior metric system
>it's effortless to know how many meters are in a kilometer, or how many milliliters are in a liter, but the Imperial unit system is so needlessly convoluted that trying to convert 20 miles to and leagues is tedious and a headache, and people here are completely okay with it

Just... JUST... JUST!!!

We have developed a sentimental attachment to the Imperial system. We've had it for so long that it's inherently American. Are you ready and willing to toss an American friend out of relevance? I for one love being special snowflakes apart from the metric system, if only to be different from the Euros. I realize it's a completely irrational reason to keep our shitty measurements, but that's what sentimental value means!

Tbh I prefer the meteic system for anything less than 1 meter.

Who is this cum drum?

Any highschool that is serious teaches metric now anyways. Physics and chemistry classes all use MKS units.

We use metric for math and science, Imperial for everyday life, there is absolutely no reason to change and we prefer Imperial for everyday life anyway

We actually do use the metric system in our science sectors

The metric system has been official for the government and military since the 1970s, it's taught in every public school, and everyone in math/science related professions uses it. Why does it matter if we say "6 feet" instead of "1.83 meters" in every day conversation?
