our culture is mix of turkic/arabic/mediterranean
(so byzanitum:greek/italian etc.)
but no one is same, we just have unique culture

2) At this point our culture has been influenced from so many different things that it doesn't make any sense to specify one country above others to be closer to our own.
With that said Greece as a country leans towards the western cultural aspects rather than the eastern ones because those have been our allies for quite some time now.
I personally consider Byzantium to be medieval Greece but I'm sure many people would claim that we're not the true successors because of meme reasons. Fight me.
