What are some folk tales/ghost stories from your country?
Hanako-san, a female ghost who appears in school bathrooms, is one of the most widespread stories in Japan. Most schools have some kind of variation of this story and a "haunted" bathroom. Although she causes no harm in most variations, some areas have a brutal version of Hanako-san who kills you.

Satanic ritual abuse was a big scare back in the 80s and 90s. Some serial killers have never been identified, and there are some possibly active ones today, like the one killing hitchhikers in the NW (Canada and US).
