Nobody owns a country per se, you only direct their actions in your posts. There is no real limit to the number of countries in play, so go nuts.
The only real rule is this: Be civil and reasonable. That means if you act like a nigger, your country will probably get fucked over by others (however if you want to roleplay as niggers, by all means, go ahead). Also, creating a giant super-empire spanning half the world is anti-fun and thereby forbidden, as an unwritten rule.

and i would also like the thread be more focused on fleshing out the nation, such as adding facts about culture, language and history instead of only having it at the nation creation

I want to create a new nation
It will be called the Magyar Khanate
Language: Magyar(hungarian)
Religion: Tengriism/Uralic shamanism
Government: The khanate is currently led by Khan Orban, who rules over the petty chiefs of the land. He mainly controls diplomacy. military and religion, while the chiefs basically own the whole land, but dont have their own army
History: The Hungarian Khanate began as the South Finngolian Khanate when Khan Mammi died without a heir. Khan Pekka, a chief with lots of soldiers quickly vied for the throne. However chief Arpad tried to take the throne as well but was defeated. His forces retreated south west until they reached Hungary, where Khan Arpad created his new Khanate, the capital being Budapest. It quickly created a new national identity, Magyar and the Khanate expanded, receiving tribute from Dacia, Vienna and the slavs.
