For the military we produced modified under license shit.
For the civilian market there's a couple companies producing mostly their own guns. Lithgow makes a few bolt action rifles but I'm not sure if they'd count as original designs. One company makes straight-pull AR-15s and another is starting to make what are effectively pump-action 10/22s.
We used to have things like AAA T2 Mk5s being made for both civilian and military markets but that all got shut down 20 years ago.

The 5.56×45mm one is probably directed at competition as well. In every Ak-12 demonstration there are like 3 Russian IPSC competitors shooting them.
