This kind of vehicle could only work if itself and every other kind of vehicle on the street was automated.
If you had any clue about what traffic in China looks like, you would know this thing won't pass a single street without accidents. Especially the simulation couldn't be further from the actual situation. There are no gaps between cars, streets are much more narrow and the sides are filled with scooters, so there is no place for this thing to go in the first place. Not to mention that the whole thing can't bend like shown in the video.
