Hello, I'm here to share with you an interesting fact about the Brazilian Lifestyle.
First, let me start off with some historical background:
During the 70's, when most of the western world was in the hippie sexual liberation phase, Brazil was still in full military dictatorship mode. It was very strict and banned any kind of sexual expression and other liberal views.
The dictatorship only ended in 1985 and with it the sexual veil was finally lifted.
Shortly after this, photographic and video cameras were starting to become mainstream; the combination of sudden sexual liberation, lack of opposition and the photography novelty created the perfect climate for widespread amateur porn.
It wasn't a commercial thing, photos and videos were mostly only shared between friends and family, it was seen as a social phenomenon.
Sons and daughters would share their sexual escapades with their parents, who would give them tips and share their own favorite positions and techniques.
Fast forward a few decades when smartphones finally became mainstream, the sex video culture was still alive and only became more common as recording and sharing became even easier; these videos started becoming more than just private VHS tapes watched during movie nights with the family, with the internet everything became public for the entire world to see.
But with globalization comes two problems: culture shock and questionable legality.
Video sharing and other social websites like YouTube and Facebook don't allow for explicit sex, they basically ban what was considered an important aspect of the Brazilian social life.
Seeking refuge in pornographic websites wasn't ideal since the videos weren't meant as simple masturbation fodder, internet users wished for a social website that met their demands but it never came until it was too late and the culture itself started to fade away.
The recent video of the teenager supposedly raped by 33 men was the final nail in the coffin of this once proud culture.
