I probably like the sun coming out since before that it's 4 hours of sunlight a day if it's not cloudy. The sun gets up at around 10AM and goes down around 2PM, after that it gets night tier dark for the rest of the day and street lights turn on. Takes a while to get used being sleepy and gloomy and have no natural light

Depends on your definition of cold.
I live in Texas (not the desert, I'm right on the edge of the Piney Woods region) and I tolerate anything above negative 10 C pretty well. I can always put on more layers. Colder and I start to have problems, but it rarely gets colder than negative 10 here. Average low temperature in winter is usually a few degrees below or above freezing.
