Why do Americans have a culture of fast food? I was talking to a few yanks and they were arguing for about 30 minutes which place is the best.
Are there no local restaurants there?
Their local restaurants are fast food, maybe ?
there are but fast-food is more fun
all the restaurants are large corporations not many mom and pops places
Local restaraunts are usually much more formal and expensive than fast food, and if it's not, it's probably because it serves burgers or other junk foods already.
When it comes to pizza though, I would never dream of ordering from a fast food chain. Local restaurant pizza best pizza.

I'd never heard of wawa until it was mentioned in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as Gale the Snail's workplace. Wawa seems like a stupid name desu.

pretty much this, especially if you live in the suburbs local restaurants tend to be more expensive.
I could spend $10 on a pasta dish at a local restaurant, wait for my food to be made, wait for the waiter to bring the food and everything, or I could go to Wendy's, spend $10, and get a burger, salad, an iced tea, and some chili-cheese nachos on the side in 10 minutes.
The exception is if you live near a chinatown, there's chinese restaurants where you can get a fat plate of whatever you want for like $7

No one knows how to cook but there are a ton of restaurants
In fact I'd say American food culture has been served food for awhile now
There's always a new restaurant opening
